Kevin Gould
President & Chief Executive Officer

Kevin Gould is the president and CEO of the California Bankers Association (CBA). In his role, he is responsible for executing the association’s mission and vision. Kevin works closely with CBA’s executive committee and board of directors to develop and implement strategic plans to serve our members and the banking industry.

Joining the CBA in 2004, Gould is involved in all aspects of the association’s operations, including advocacy, professional development, finance, external communications, and human resources. He has more than 25 years of public policy experience, 19 years of which have been dedicated to advocating for the CBA.


Jason Lane
Vice President, Acting Director of Government Relations

Jason Lane is vice president and acting director of government relations for the California Bankers Association and manages California state tax policy for the association, which involves analyzing legislation and regulatory activity, and the development of policy positions for the association. Lane is one of three lobbyists at CBA and, in addition to his primary focus on taxation, he also lobbies on behalf of the association on issues related to the state budget, and consumer lending legislation.


Melanie Cuevas
Vice President of Government Relations

Melanie Cuevas serves as the vice president of government relations for the California Bankers Association, where her advocacy portfolio focuses mainly on issues related to cannabis, debt collection, labor and employment, political reform, privacy, and agricultural, student and military lending.


Dee Peach
Senior Legislative Assistant

Dee Peach joined the CBA Government Relations team in May of 2014 and brings more than 20 years of experience in the clerical/administrative field.

As the senior legislative assistant, she provides support to the state government relations team by managing policies and procedures of all resources supporting the state government relations department, manages the federal and state government relations and public affairs fund committees and tracks activities on legislation.


Elizabeth Clayberger
PAC Administrator, Government Relations Assistant

Elizabeth Clayberger serves as the PAC Administrator and Government Relations Assistant. In her role, she oversees CBA’s State and Federal PACs, including managing fundraising requests, building relationships with campaign staff and fundraisers, and PAC donor management and engagement. She also provides direct administrative support to the CBA Government Relations team.
