SACRAMENTO, Calif., June 11, 2025 – The California Bankers Association (CBA) is pleased to announce that Martin E. Plourd, President of Community West Bancshares, assumed the role of 2025-2026 chair of the board of directors effective June 1, 2025.

“Marty is an exceptional leader, and we are excited about the vision he will bring to his new role as chair of our association,” said Kevin Gould, president and CEO. “His enthusiastic engagement as a board member, coupled with his valuable input in several CBA committees and working groups, underscores his dedication and commitment to our mission.”

Mr. Plourd brings more than 30 years of banking experience to the role. He began his banking career with Security Pacific Bank in 1981. Mr. Plourd then spent 19 years as an executive with Valley Independent Bank/Rabobank in Southern California and served most recently for 12 years as President and CEO of Community West Bank. Mr. Plourd graduated from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, earning a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Business Management. He also graduated from the American Bankers Association's Stonier Graduate School of Banking.

"I am honored to be named chair of the board of directors for the California Bankers Association,” said Mr. Plourd. "This is a pivotal time for the banking sector, and I am eager to champion our members, enhance our community, and help ensure that our members fully utilize the vital resources offered by the association.”

He has a long history of service to community and non-profit organizations. In addition to serving as the CBA’s board chair, Mr. Plourd also serves as a board member for the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara, an advisory board member for the College of Agriculture at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and a member of the Rotary Club of Goleta.

Mr. Plourd assumes the role of chair from Krista Snelling, president and CEO of West Coast Community Bank.
