CBA Statement on Launch of Countering Tech-Enabled Fraud Taskforce

SACRAMENTO – The California Bankers Association (CBA) today issued the following statement applauding state officials for their leadership in establishing the Countering Tech-Enabled Fraud Taskforce:

“The California Bankers Association (CBA) applauds Governor Newsom, BCSH Secretary Moss, and DFPI Commissioner Mohseni for their leadership in establishing the Countering Tech-Enabled Fraud Taskforce. CBA is honored to participate and looks forward to collaborating with industry, law enforcement, and consumer organizations to safeguard Californians from tech-enabled fraud. This initiative reflects exactly the kind of coordinated, whole-of-government approach that CBA has long recommended to address the growing fraud ecosystem.

“CBA also commends the Little Hoover Commission for their recent report, which recommends a whole-of-government approach to stopping scams by involving stakeholders across multiple industries. We also thank Senator Tim Grayson for his thoughtful leadership and the legislature for prioritizing this critical issue. Their work has helped lay the foundation for meaningful action, and CBA looks forward to building on that momentum.”
