Patch the People: Security Awareness Programs for Customers & Employees
We patch outdated operating systems, software programs and firmware on hardware devices, but how do we patch people?

This session is designed to improve ongoing security education and awareness for your customers and staff.

We patch outdated operating systems, vulnerable software programs and firmware on hardware devices, but how do we patch people? Hardware and software programs generally do as they are told, but people have a mind of their own and can
easily fall victim to social engineering attacks. During our discussion we will explore traditional ways employee education has been deployed and look at more advanced and effective methods to patch our people. We will also look at what banks are doing to
address similar issues with business customers and highlight common educational practices.

Traditionally, we have trained people for an hour, every 365 days. Do you patch your workstations every 365 days? This discussion will highlight how we can develop a program that continually promotes education in our institutions, so
that better decisions are made by our employees, board members and customers every one of the 364 days between annual training events.
