On August 27, the U.S. Department of Labor issued new regulations which substantially increase affirmative action obligations for all banks with 50 or more employees. Banks will now be required to gather additional information from applicants and employees, establish hiring goals for protected veterans and disabled individuals, increase recruitment and outreach efforts to these groups, and conduct enhanced statistical analyses in their Affirmative Action Plans.
