Sheri Porath Rockwell is a Privacy and Cybersecurity Counsel at Sidley Austin LLP, in their Century City office and serves as the Chair of the California Lawyers Association’s Privacy Law Section. Sheri advises large companies, including many financial institutions and fintech companies, regarding privacy compliance and corporate data protection programs, including compliance with the California Consumer Privacy Act and other state data privacy laws, financial privacy laws, HIPAA and other health privacy laws, the FTC Act, and children’s privacy laws. She also conducts privacy and security diligence for large M&A transactions, including for financial institutions. Sheri is an IAPP Certified Information Privacy Professional/U.S. and Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe, and regularly blogs and delivers presentations regarding issues in US privacy law. Sheri also has experience litigating a variety of complex commercial matters. A native Angeleno, Sheri graduated from U.C. Berkeley and earned her J.D. from the USC Gould School of Law. Before beginning her practice, Sheri served as a law clerk in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Texas.
