Sean Kiester
Senior Director, Vendor Management
Fremont Bank

Speakers

Sean Kiester has been in banking for 35 years, all at Fremont Bank. He started on the ground floor as a teller in 1988 while attending Cal-State Hayward (now East Bay) where he earned a B.A. in Mass Communications.

Through the years, Mr. Kiester has worked in various areas of the Bank — from client call centers, to IT (where he started Fremont Bank’s first Help Desk in 1997), to desktop support and server administration, before transitioning into project management. In 2010, Mr. Kiester managed the Bank’s Corporate Services Department, creating efficiencies in treasury services.

In 2013, Mr. Kiester’s experience in branch processes, information technology, project management, and treasury services made him an ideal candidate to manage the Bank’s newly created Vendor Management Department. He has built the Bank’s Vendor Management Program from the beginning foundation into what exists today. His knowledge of risk, controls, and assessments has made him an ideal subject matter expert in the field, and he currently serves in Senior Director position at Fremont Bank. He credits his success to the counsel he received early on from the Bank’s founder, Morris Hyman, “Communication is the key to success!”
