Stan Cardenas, Former State Banking Regulator, Passes
Stan Cardenas, who served two administrations in the California State Banking Department, passed away on April 20, 2014. Stan served seven years with the department where he was appointed by Governors Pete Wilson and George Deukmejian to the positions of senior deputy superintendent of banks, chief deputy superintendent of banks and acting superintendent of banks. Since 1996, he led his own company, Cardenas Financial Services Consulting, which provided services to senior management of financial institutions and technology companies. Stan was a constant presence in the banking community, attending many CBA events throughout the years, and he will be greatly missed.
