General information

Dear Member,

The California’s Bankers Association is pleased to announce its partnership with the State Controller’s Office to highlight Manage Your Money Week, an effort between government agencies, non-profit organizations and financial institutions to host free money management education events and promote the importance of good money management practices in communities throughout California.

The program is designed to promote the importance of building the capacity of all Californians to make good financial decisions to achieve their goals.

Manage Your Money Week, October 18-25, is a project of the state controller’s financial literacy advisory committee and as a committee member representing all members of the California Bankers Association, I’d like to encourage your bank to sign up to become a partner to promote your own financial literacy resources. You can find information on becoming a partner, including a partner application here. You can also get involved by posting your own upcoming financial events in your community.

Manage Your Money Week also aims to connect consumers to money management resources in their communities, build relationships between organizations that provide money management resources and education with other organizations whose constituents need the support and provide a framework for state, regional and local financial education groups to work in collaboration to highlight their programs and services.

Programs and events will be offered to all demographics in multiple languages and cover all facets of personal finance from opening a checking account and managing a budget, to credit counseling, first-time home buying, planning for retirement, avoiding financial scams and starting a business.

We hope you’ll get involved by partnering with us and the State Controller’s Office to promote this important program. For more information on Manage Your Money Week, including information on how to sign up or post your own financial event, please visit www.sco.ca.gov/mymw.html.

Kind Regards,
