One additional editorial board meeting with the Sacramento Bee is scheduled for July 20.

CBA members Karen Smith, SVP and regional manager at Central Valley Community Bank, and Kellie England, SVP and regional retail director at Umpqua Bank, spoke at the press conference and urged California to join Congress by acting on extending the important tax relief while emphasizing that borrowers should not have to be saddled with a state income tax bill on forgiven debt. The Stockton Record covered the story as well as ABC 10, the Central Valley Business Times and the Sierra Sun Times.
Issued a statement regarding CBA’s opposition to Senate Bill 1150, which creates numerous and substantive compliance issues for mortgage servicers and contains a provision allowing a private right of action.
