CBA Honors Passing of Esteemed Banker, Curtis Reis
Former CBA chairman and retired longtime California bank executive, Curtis Reis, passed away February 25 at the age of 79. Curtis served as CBA’s chairman from 2003-2004, and in 2008 was honored as the CBA’s Distinguished Banker of the Year. From 1986-2009, Curtis served as the chairman and CEO of Alliance Bank, and prior to that was an senior vice president with Crocker Bank. Curtis started his banking career in New York City where he worked at the Bankers Trust Company for 20 years. In addition to his term as chairman, Curtis held a number of volunteer leadership roles with the CBA including serving as a member of the association’s board of directors, Banker Benefits board, both the state and federal government relations committees, the PAC administrative committee and the state PAC committee to name just a few. He will be deeply missed by California’s banking community.
