Rodney K. Brown

Rodney K. Brown is the president and chief executive officer of the California Bankers Association. In this role, Rod provides CBA's member institutions with the leadership and direction necessary to successfully guide the industry through its many challenges and capitalize on its many opportunities. Brown joins CBA after serving as the president and CEO of Montecito Bank & Trust in Santa Barbara, California for 12 years. Prior to his tenure as the chief executive at Montecito Bank & Trust, Rod served as a senior vice president at Santa Barbara Savings and Loan, and also as a vice president at Bank of America for nearly 10 years. Rod began his banking career in the Midwest, starting out as the director of marketing for East Side National Bank in Wichita, Kansas and then as the director of marketing for the First National Bank of Kansas City in Missouri. Brown also served on the CBA board of directors, and as the organization's treasurer. He was elected to the American Bankers Association's board of directors in 2005. Brown is a graduate of Wichita State University, where he received his bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He completed his Graduate Banking School program at the University of Virginia.
