CBA members waive fees for Holocaust survivors

Washington Mutual, City National Bank, First Federal Bank of California, Wells Fargo and World Savings have agreed to waive up to $360 in wire transfer fees for those victims of the Holocaust receiving war reparations. The banks were contacted by Assemblywoman Fran Pavley asking them to eliminate the fees after being informed by a constituent that New York City banks were already doing so. Other banks, including Bank of America, are considering eliminating the fees. Washington Mutual has eliminated the fees not just in California, but for all of its operations nationwide.
