SACRAMENTO - February 18, 2004 - The California Bankers Association (CBA) today announced the addition of Kevin Gould to its Sacramento-based government relations team. With extensive experience in legislative issues management, Gould joins the CBA advocacy team as a Legislative Advocate.

"Our ability to effectively advocate on behalf of our members is of paramount importance to the hundreds of financial institutions that comprise our membership," said CBA president Gary S. Gertz. "We are pleased that Kevin Gould has decided to join our advocacy team in Sacramento. It is because of his extensive legislative experience and his tremendous work ethic that we have such confidence in his ability to represent the interests of our member banks to California's legislators."

Prior to joining CBA, Gould served as Legislative Director and Chief of Staff for Assembly Member Robert Pacheco. During his time with Pacheco, Kevin advised Assembly Member Pacheco on the Assembly Judiciary Committee where Pacheco was the vice-chair. Additionally, Kevin staffed Assembly Member Pacheco on numerous policy and budgetary committees including the Assembly Budget Committee and budget subcommittees while also advising Pacheco on the Assembly Health Committee and the Assembly Appropriations Committee.

Prior to working with Assembly Member Pacheco, Kevin worked for Assembly Member Gary Miller. Kevin graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a bachelor's degree in Political Science. Kevin and his wife Diane reside in West Sacramento.
