SACRAMENTO - February 3, 2003 - The California Bankers Association (CBA) today announced the addition of Douglas L. White to its Sacramento-based government relations team. With extensive experience in legislative issues management, White joins the CBA advocacy team as a legislative advocate.

"We know that advocacy is one of the most important services we provide our many members," said CBA president Gary S. Gertz. "We are pleased to add Doug White to our team because of his tremendous experience on the legislative side and have full confidence in his ability to represent the interests of our member banks to California's legislators."

Prior to joining CBA, White served as Legislative Director for Assemblywoman Nicole Parra and as Press Secretary, Campaign Manager and Principal Consultant to Assemblyman Dennis Cardoza (now a member of Congress). White was also a consultant to the Senate Majority Caucus, worked for the Fair Political Practices Commission and the Human Rights/Fair Housing Commission. Additionally, White headed up the Statewide Rapid Response Team for the California Democratic Party in 1994 and 1995.

White graduated with his bachelor's degree in political science from University of California, Davis and his juris doctorate degree from McGeorge School of Law (University of the Pacific). Doug and his wife Crystal live in Sacramento, Calif.
