April is Financial Literacy month
To help in the promotion of April as Financial Literacy Month, the California
Bankers Association is providing its own financial literacy materials online.
For generations people have worked hard to achieve those things that the American
Dream embodies: owning a home, owning a car, having enough savings to more
than pay bills, educating ones children. But for many hard-working Californians,
the American Dream remains just that a dream. Though Californians are
working very hard, they arent quite sure how to best leverage their
money. They need to understand how to make the best use of their money and
how to safely save it, understand how credit works, understand investment
opportunities. There are too many Californians who are in pursuit of the American
Dream but dont have the knowledge to make it a reality. To that end,
CBA has created a series of educational materials that can be used as stand-alone
educational pieces or together for a more comprehensive approach to economic
